La Sezione ARI "Basso Lazio" (già Sezione di Formia) e la Sezione ARMI "Golfo di Gaeta", per enfatizzare il loro legame con il mare, nonché per sottolineare la storia e lo spirito marinaresco che da sempre anima i luoghi di appartenenza, istituiscono e rilasciano, ad OM ed SWL italiani e stranieri, a far data 01.02.2006, il diploma WAP P.S.A. - "Polar Ship Award".
Il requisito minimo per l'ottenimento del diploma base è quello di avere confermati almeno due collegamenti/ascolti con stazioni operanti da: Navi Polari, Navi Oceanografiche, Navi Appoggio, Navi Rompighiaccio, Navi "Coast Guard", attive in acque definite Antartiche, Sub e Peri Antartiche. I collegamenti/ascolti possono essere effettuati su tutte le bande radioamatoriali e nei modi di emissione: CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK31, EME, SAT.

The Formia's A.R.I. section and "Gaeta Gulf" ARMI section have been instituted, from the February 1, 2006, the WAP P.S.A. - Polar Ship Award for all OM/SWL of every country, in order to emphasize the bond with the sea and to underline the history and the seafaring spirit of the belonging lands.
The minimum requirement to obtain the diploma is to have two QSO or listening of a Polarship, Oceangraphic ship, Coastguard or Icebreaker stations operating in the Antartic Sub/Peri Antartic sea. The QSO/listening can be done on every band and mode: CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK31, EME and SAT.
